Winter is Coming! Is your bike a breakdown waiting to happen?
Most bicycles get fitted with cheap tyres, which brings down the overall cost of the bike. A clever tactic from the manufacturer.
A decent set of bicycle tyres can cost you as much as a car tyre and I would argue that the need for a quality bicycle tyre is much greater than that for a car.
The right tyre will give you a lot more than just speed. It improves your grip in both wet and dry conditions, making your bike safer to ride and faster through the corners.
They often have better durability than their cheaper alternatives. So although the original cost price is high, in the long run, it levels out over time.
Then finally, the top of the range bike tyres often have puncture resistance equal to some of the ‘indestructible’ car tyres on the market.
